Many men honestly believe that chivalry is not dead.
Here are 5 ways to be a gentleman none of which involves carrying your Filipina girlfriend’s bag.
We Filipinos, would love to be seen as gallant gentlemen and ready to defend our beloved ladies. It is a man’s pride to be the lady’s knight in shining armor.
But lately, there are just so many guys who think that carrying their Filipina girlfriends’ bags rocks. Gentlemen, the ladies buy their bags because it is part of their attire.
Here are 5 ways you can be a gentleman and still look cool!
1st of 5 Ways to be a gentleman: Carry everything that she carries except the bag
I know, I have stressed over the bag so much but it really is a downer. You only mean well knowing that her bag weighs more than a kilo but try to check what’s in her bag.
Is it your phone, your wallet, your charger, your shades, and your power bank?
No wonder you are carrying her bag, everything in it belongs to you.
Get rid of your stuff in her bag and let her carry it. A woman’s bag tells who she is. It’s part of her look so quit taking it from her.
2nd of 5 Ways to be a gentleman: Open doors for her
Gentlemen, we have forgotten the art of opening doors for the ladies. And this does not apply to your girlfriends alone. Old, young, chubby or slim, we should always open the door for the ladies. This also serves as a perfect opportunity to practice your gentleman skills. 🙂
Same applies when entering elevators and getting off from them too. She enters first, you exit first. You’re wondering why? Read on to find out.
3rd of 5 Ways to be a gentleman: Escalators and stairs
Ah, the escalator! You see couples hogging the escalator and not letting anyone pass. They while away You think this is the sweet way. This applies for both stairs and escalators. You let her go up first because in case she loses her balance, you are there right behind her to catch her fall.
When going down, you go ahead of her because of the same logic that in case she trips, you are in front of her to catch her. Hence the term “Catch me, I’m falling”. She didn’t just fall off the heavens for you to catch.
4th of 5 Ways to be a gentleman: Pull the chair for her
WHY COMBINE CHIVALRY AND CIGAR SMOKING? Cigars are an eight billion dollar global pastime celebrating one of life’s most affordable luxuries and greatest passions. It has an elegant and sensual allure. It has etiquette and refinement. Generally considered primarily a pastime of refined gentlemen, it seems altogether fitting to make a connection between cigars and the modern day usage of chivalry; a gentleman’s code of conduct toward women. #chivalry #chivalryisnotdead #goodman #loyality #rolemodel #smartguy #respectgirls #respect #lastofadyingbreed #manners #mannersmaketheman #mannersmatters #values #integrity #lifelessons #ladiesfirst #polite #right #beingagentleman #gentleman #gentlemen #gents #menwithclass #clasicman #cigar #cigars #cigarporn #cigaraficionado #stogie #cigarlife

5th of 5 Ways to be a gentleman: Pay or at the very least split the bill
A real gentleman should at the very least be pay for the dates. But the reality is we all go through difficulties like a struggling business. This however should never be an excuse not to pick up the bill.
If the lady insists because she knows that times are tough, the most that you let her pay is half the bill but nothing more.
My hope is that after you read this article, you will stop carrying your lady’s bag and instead focus on the fundamentals of being a real gentleman or else be mistaken for a snatcher. 🙂
